Your Support helps ensure that when responders need help, Access To Care is within Reach!

For those who’ve seen too much and held it all in—
this is a Place to lay it down, Tend to the injuries no one else sees, and move Forward with Renewed Strength!
When the call ends, the impact doesn't.
First responders face repeated exposure to trauma, critical incidents, and the cumulative weight of a career spent protecting others. Yet when it comes time to seek support, many encounter real and persistent barriers to care—whether it’s the cost of treatment, limited EAP sessions that fall short, or the challenge of finding a therapist who truly understands responder culture.
ā
2nd Alarm to Second Wind exists to change that.
Through our programs, we expand access to culturally competent therapy through structured access and support programs such as: therapy, access to trauma-informed treatment retreats, and specialized treatment designed for the realities of the responder profession. We connect responders and their spouses or significant others with clinicians who understand the job—and the impact it carries.
Because the work leaves a mark—and the right support helps responders keep showing up when it matters most.ā
Your support expands access to therapy, intensive care, and specialized treatment—so responders and their families can get the care they need, when they need it.
Removing Barriers, Restoring Access
Sustainment & Resilience Programs
Through our programs, we expand access to ongoing therapy and specialized trauma treatment for first responders and their spouses or significant others. By reducing barriers such as limited EAP sessions, insurance constraints, and access to culturally informed providers, we make it possible for responders to engage in consistent, effective care that supports long-term resilience.

Intensive Healing & Retreat Program
Through this program, we expand access to specialized healing experiences, including trauma-focused retreats, multi-day intensive therapy, and integrative treatment options such as ketamine-assisted therapy or stellate ganglion blocks when appropriate. By reducing barriers to these services, we create space for first responders and their spouses or significant others to engage in deeper, more focused therapeutic work that supports meaningful recovery.
Support makes the Difference between struggling in Silence and getting the care they Deserve.
